Marchant joins Housing Supply Accelerator steering committee

Sarah Marchant, the Community Loan Fund's Chief of Staff and Vice President of ROC-NH™, has been named to the inaugural steering committee of the Housing Supply Accelerator.
The Housing Supply Accelerator is a national campaign to improve local capacity, identify critical solutions, and speed reforms that enable communities and developers to work together to produce, preserve, and provide a wide range of quality housing.
“New Hampshire’s housing crisis is something we think about every day at the Community Loan Fund,” Marchant said. “I look forward to extending the conversation nationally with my peers at the Housing Supply Accelerator and creating solutions for the Granite State and beyond.”
The American Planning Association (APA) and National League of Cities (NLC) are convening public and private stakeholders, including community planners, builders, financial institutions, housing policy associations, and partners from all levels of government, to develop, align, and advance housing solutions.
According to housing studies, the United States has nearly 4 million housing units fewer than what communities need; 200,000 of those are in N.H. The impact of housing underproduction in N.H. is acutely felt by employers, who have thousands of jobs they’re unable to fill. Nationwide, renters and would-be homeowners are facing extremely low vacancy rates, rising rents, and soaring home-purchase prices.
Marchant, who lives with her family in Brookline, has nearly two decades of community development experience and deep involvement with not only the APA, but also the New Hampshire Planners Association and New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority. She’s a recipient of the N.H. Planners Association’s Professional Planner of the Year award and the Northern New England APA chapter’s Planner of the Year award.
